Java released an update and while the user was updating, Java offered two options that are already checked, so that the user is automatically “opted in”. In this scenario, an Ask toolbar extension for Chrome would be installed and Ask also becomes the default search provider in Google Chrome.
What Should Have Happened
1- Nothing beyond the Java update needs to be offered
2- The check boxes should not have been automatically checked allowing Java to install the Ask Toolbar and making Ask the user’s default search engine.
